ROBINSON, Texas, April 29, 2026 — Walmart has opened its third owned-and-operated milk processing plant in Robinson. The facility represents an investment of more than $350 million and occupies more than 300,000 square feet. Walmart expects the operation to create over 400 jobs and supply more than 650 Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations across the South Central United States.

The plant will process and bottle milk for Walmart’s Great Value and Sam’s Club’s Member’s Mark brands. Its range includes whole, 2%, 1%, skim and 1% chocolate milk, with gallon and half-gallon packaging. Milk will be sourced directly from local dairy farmers.

Regional processing and supply

John Laney, Executive Vice President, Food, Walmart U.S., expects the Robinson operation to increase the company’s ability to meet demand and reduce the time between dairy farms and store shelves. He links those changes to greater freshness, consistency and transparency for customers. These are the company’s expectations for the new operation.

Walmart first announced the Robinson project on March 7, 2024, with an opening planned for 2026. At that stage, the proposed service region included Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and parts of Arkansas and Mississippi. The company now plans to supply more than 650 stores and clubs across the South Central U.S.

Manufacturing network

Robinson follows Walmart’s first milk processing facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which opened in 2018, and its second in Valdosta, Georgia, which opened in December 2025. The retailer also owns and operates case-ready beef facilities in Thomasville, Georgia, and Olathe, Kansas.

Walmart places these manufacturing investments alongside its pledge to spend $350 billion on products made, grown or assembled in the United States by 2031. That purchasing commitment covers products across the business; the Robinson plant’s separate capital investment exceeds $350 million.

Local grants at the opening

Walmart marked the Robinson opening with grants of $5,000 each to five community recipients:

  • Stewards of the Wild;
  • Texas State Technical College’s WorkSITE program;
  • Robinson High School;
  • the Robinson Food pantry;
  • the Waco Caritas Food Bank.
